It Came From the Backyard! Glad you’re liking these fall strips, Stephen. I’m pouring local color into each one, fall is just busting out all over, lately!
Don’t you just love drawing the leaves and not have to worry about raking it up, Mark? Fantastic color explosion in these leafy strips! Can’t wait to see what you do with snowflakes!
Color explosion is a good word for it, Joseph. Back in the day I’d color each individual leaf, now I’m thinking about them as a whole when I color them with only some minor color detail. I’m much happier with the results.
That reminds me of an oil painting class I took in college. We were painting a still life and the instructor stood behind me while I painted each individual grape. He told me to stop, look at the grapes as a whole and paint it all at once. I still struggle with that today.
I sense an old ’50s horror movie trailer here. It is BEYOND BE-LEAF! Really enjoying these leafy strips. Fall colors are irresistible, aren’t they?

It’s time to take a rake break and run!
And not necessarily in that order!
Oh, it’s the dog. I get it now.
It’s the Leaf Bandit! Check him out: http://www.zombieboycomics.com/2011/12/14/perfect-cover/
Uh oh, what have we done?
It’s alive…ALIVE!!!
A leafy Oscar the Grouch.
Emphasis on the Grouch!
Gorr the Mulch Monster!!
Mulch ado about nothing, J.P.!
Gorr, you will have to rake all those leaves if you scatter the pile.
And Mark, love the colors and style in today’s comic.
Thanks, David. I’m really inspired by the trees changing color in my neighborhood. They’re just getting more spectacular each day!
Build it and they will come for you.
They will come FOR YOU!
Gorr is talented for sure! 🙂
He’s self taught!
I think Gorr errr…. I mean the leaf bandit has found a pair of stilts in that pile
His enthusiasm is running high.
Dune sandworm meet leafdog.
I don’t want to know anything about Leaf spice…!
Emperor Gorr is the king of his roost!
The master of all he surveys!
It’s the towering inferno of color! :O)

Yea, it’s that “wanting to show everything” mentality. I have learned with tight deadlines, that sometimes less is definitely more!
Imagine how big the Leaf Bandit could get if *three* rakes were involved!
It’s heading for the city park! Someone call the National Guard!
Oh, oh.
Autumn is coming for YOU!
Beware the Bandit! 🙂
Never turn your back on that pile of leaves!
