The only reason I drew this strip was to draw the sequence of Claustria tackling those stairs. I’ve always loved shadow effects, so it was an experiment to see how it would turn out. Thanks, Tim!
I had the shadow in black originally, but it was too hard to read, so I colored it. There’s a kind of symmetry to the design, I’m glad you like it, Bill!
Can’t help to recall Young Frankenstein when they’re going up the stairs but the candles aren’t lit. Or, Teri Garr’s voice from behind the bookcase; “PUT! THE CANDLE! BECK!” Her accent was awesome.
hahahaha It may be frustrating that after hundreds of stairs, you forgot your bubble soap!! If you have some time check our site oneminutecomic.com. Thanks!
That would make a funny short film. She goes all the way back down the stairs, gets the soap, comes all the way back up, gets in the bath, and as soon as she settles, there’s a knock on her front door. Thanks for popping by and commenting, I appreciate it. I’ll be sure to visit your site!
Hello Andrei, nice to see you again! I try to add a twist sometimes just to make it interesting for me to draw it! Thanks for coming by and commenting!
Years of exposure to sit com situations has led to expect the telephone to ring at this point!
Haha, and I can imagine that the phone is at the bottom of that long flight of steps! Nice to hear from you, Spencey!
Bubbles at the top of the Keep, perfect for a quite evening!
I can’t imagine a better place to take a bubble bath!
Is her place “Over the hills and far away”?
I just hope that bathtub levee won’t break!
This comic is just bubbling with ambiance, Mark…nice work! 🙂

Bubble bubble toil and trouble, the dirt goes down the drain.
There is some soothing root of hemlock in that bath water, actually.
I really like your art in this one. Kinda soothing how she glides up the steps with her shadow cascading on the wall. 🙂

It’s good to have a dungeon for just such occasions!
For the discriminating castle dweller!
Nice effect with the shadow Mark. Ummm… she forgot her rubber ducky
As big as her feet are, it might be stuck between her toes! Thanks, Tony!
I’m having a young Frankenstein flashback… “Ze stairs…. Can be treacherous….”
See? You can have fun with old stone stairs!
Bed, Bath & Beyond 6 flights of stairs!
She really worked hard for that bubble bath!
Don’t drop the soap down the stairs!
Haw, that would be like a soapy version of Laurel and Hardy’s The Music Box!
A steep but perfect spot to climb to calm Claustria’s nerves. The burning question is, what kind of bubble bath does she use?
Adder’s fork and blind-worm’s sting, with a touch of lavender.
Hmmm, sounds soothing 😉
And love the artwork!
What witch can resist adder’s fork? Thanks so much, David!
Nice artwork on this one, Mark.
Thanks so much, Peter!
A bubble bath that you don’t have to wait 20 minutes for the tub to fill
Magic baths fill themselves!

What a comedy classic! I love that film!
The experience could be made all the better with marshmallows to roast over the candles.
Roasted marshmallows make everything better! Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment, Jason! I visited your site, great stuff!

I wasn’t expecting that. Haha. The twists in your stories are awesome as always.

Did she leave her towel downstairs?
Haha, exactly!
Do they still make bathtubs like that? *sigh* I want one! With Candle-light! And Bubbles! <3
My neighbor has a tub like that. She’s so proud of it, she always saves it for last when people visit.
