This came to me like in five minutes, and I put it together fast. I guess some gags just can’t wait to be put out there. Thanks for your enthusiastic comment, Roland!
You are a cartoonist who is OUT OF CONTROL! Rein in those dialogue bubbles! And I don’t want to hear the old “The wind blew the bubbles away!” excuse that Watterson the hack always used!
It sure is fortunate that the last panel had a windproof edge. Just thought of what Popeye would say in this situation. Well, ……………
That’s what you call “catch phrases.” Popeye could just knock the wind out of the wind.
Oh man, the wind can ruin anything! It’s the reason I don’t do gigs outdoors. Damn wind!
It can carry anything away, including your voice.
Gone with the wind. 🙂
But only for three panels!
That strip just blew me away …yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!
We’ll wait a few minutes while you catch up with the end of that sentence, J.P.!
Eat your heart out, Chicago!
Let’s see them try this with THEIR word balloons!
A perfect visual, love this joke and how you got your point across!

Oh Yeah, Mark, great concept! This is the kind of thing you think actually happens when you’re a kid.
Thanks, Vince! All those words have to go somewhere, right?
I hope they never try to talk in a faster than sound airplane!
Then the word balloons would have to float back to them!
Echooooooooooo-echo-echo-echo!
Very nice use of the word balloons. It’s always fun to play around with the comic strip medium!
Beats talking heads any day! Thanks for the encouraging words, Aidan!
Everyone knows it’s Windy? Get it? I’ll shut up…
And who’s reaching out to capture a moment? You have the Karaoke floor, Chris! Thanks for the comment!
hahahahaha, I am slow. It took me a minute to get it. 🙂
I don’t blame you, Carlo. It’s not something you see everyday, lol!
The wind is really creepy when it does that…
Talk about stealing the conversation!
Is that what they mean by ‘waiting for the wind’?
I’m sure they had something like this in mind when they came up with it, Wouter!
He he he…
I wonder where that conversation will end up
This is what happens when a conversation starts dragging.
Looks like that convo hit the (fourth) wall! <3
Love the breezy style you're working with lately.
I’ve had quite a few conversations hit the wall, too, lol. I’m just going whereever the wind takes me, Jande, I’m glad you’re enjoying them!
If they fly high enough, I hear they’ll pop.
Probably wouldn’t be anyone around to hear the words, anyway…
This is why I always add weights to my own word balloons!
You’d think those long tails would anchor them, wouldn’t you?
They must be quicker than the wind.
I think roller blades would help.

I’m not familiar with the Watterson excuse, but I can’t blame it on the elements, either. It’s all my imagination’s fault, it’s overactive!
