A friend of mine told me recently that was enjoying the bug stuff, but when was I going to get back to Zombie Boy? Lol, I think he may have a point. As much as I like doing these bug strips, I’m going to have to circle the wagon back to Zombie Boy ranch before too long. Guess it never hurts to get back to the source even now and then! I’m glad you like them, Matt, I really enjoy creating them!
Korean war: My grandfather’s troops were basically sent in as canon fodder and got surrounded. Instead of getting slaughtered by trying to escape, grandpa made his soldiers stay put and shoot anything outside of their circle. It was insane, but they survived, unlike the enemy. Grandpa turned down a Congressional Medal of Honor when one of his higher ups offered to nominate him. Grandpa turned it down, because he thought that what he did was a desperate act of survival. He also turned down a biography and interviews. He felt sad very about the slaughter, and didn’t feel like he was a hero until his church honored his deeds the year before his death. Grandpa was a good guy.
Wow, Vas, what an incredible story! Thanks so much for sharing! Your grandfather was a real true hero! And humble, too. I like the fact that he felt what he did wasn’t valor but desperation, even though he saved the lives of his men. I would liked to have met him.
He may be out numbered, but it’s still an even match!
Outnumbered, yes. Out-armed? NO!
It’s all in the wrists!
And he’s got plenty of those!
Oh, thats just awesome! Now if I could round up the New England weather dept. to feel this bugs Snowmageddon wrath?! [smirk]
He’d be happy to give them a snow thrashing, Jynksie!
A tough foe to beat!
He has a few legs up on the competition.
Don’t count old Red out yet!
You CAN teach old bugs new tricks!
these legs aren’t just for good looks!
He’s a one bug army corp!
This comic is totally underground 🙂
That’s the way bugs like it!
Ha Ha Ha!!! This one really cracked me up Mark. Nobody ever expects an underground attack
Instead of yelling “Incoming!”, yell “Upcoming!”
They often talk about local upcoming events on TV in a Community Noticeboard segment. They never mentioned snowball throwing centipedes though…
They need to expand their entertainment horizons!
We are beginning to understand why bugs have a difficult time surviving a long cold winter.
They need to bundle up more!
Talk about a snowball blitz!
Spinning your way right now!
This should go pay per view!
Just hook up some macro lens cameras and some network sponsors, and you’re good to go!
Whatever goes out, must come back!
Bugerangs!
Can’t keep a good bug down – this is really great Mark 🙂 I love the ones you do with a micro world inside the bigger world. So cool

This is gettin’ nasty!
And bugs are odious enough to begin with!
Oh… This Centipede is Good! I Bet He’s a Snowball Fight Ringer!
Haha, yes! He’s a very fierce multi-tasker!
True story: That strategy got my grandfather war hero status. Whether in warfare or snow ball battles, can’t argue with results.
I had no idea a comic strip about bugs would ever be compared to war heroism, Vas! I have to know your grandfather’s story now!

My grandfather was amazing. I miss him so much.
