When I was drawing that Lifesaver, I thought that very same thing! It’s funny when you don’t eat some things after awhile, you feel like a kid again when you do! I’ve been revisiting some of my fave breakfast cereals lately, the ones I used to love when I was a kid. Currently working on a box of Fruit Loops. It’s not a big thing, but it brings back some fond feelings…. Thanks about the colors, I’m glad you like them!
So how do Canadian Smarties differ from States side Smarties? I understand about the sweet cereal, waking up to bowl full of sugar is not for everyone…
Canadian Smarties are like thinner more delicate m&m candies. Chocolate inside a thin coating that you could crunch or let melt into the chocolate. Beautiful colours. And the ads used to sing “When you eat your Smarties do you eat the red ones last?” in a kind of funny staccato. And of course I always did. :`D
It’s the last place most people would think to look for something! If you lower your standards, there’s probably plenty of value under your cushions already (a rock hard gummy bear or licorice, for instance)!
Trail Mix!
Who cares if its petrified?
And all I got was a lousy potato chip…..
At some point it turned in to cardboard!
So true. 🙂
If you don’t mind hard, dried, half-eaten snacks, it’s a bonanza!
Yummy! A couch buffet.
Pass me the peanut please. (At least that’s still in it’s original wrapper.) 😉
I found a peanut, I found a peanut, I found a peanut just now…
Zombie Bird diving for cheetoes!!
They’re feather lickin’ good!
“…you never what you’re gonna find.” Seriously, though!
You can find it, but nobody says you have to eat it!
This comic inspired me to find breakfast under the couch cushions! Thanks Mark!
Today’s breakfast is a half eaten crinkle cut french fry, part of a pretzel, a Skittle, some pizza crust, and an almond slice, followed by one side of an Oreo with a smattering of filling. Bon appétit!
You were spying on me!!
Er, Chris, you still have some Oreo filling on your lip…
I should’ve known… BIG BROTHER IS A CARTOONIST!!!!!!!!! :-0
When you gaze long into a comic strip panel, the panel also gazes into you.
Whoa… deep…
I bet Nietzsche never read a comic in his whole life.
As Homer Simpson might say “he needs to edumicated!”
It’s always a treasure to find Gummy Bears!
And Gummy Bears last forever!
That is a perfect cat claw. I knew exactly what you were doing there!
I see what you mean, Michael. It does look like a cat’s claw! It’s supposed to be a half eaten cashew, but I’ll take a cat’s claw, too! Lol!
As soon as I posted that I thought how funny it would be if I was wrong. Either works for couch refuse!
Honestly, I have found a cat’s claw in a couch, so you really weren’t off the mark!
Aww… He’s got the diver uniform on, too! :`D
I hope you’re getting paid for product placement. been decades since I’ve eaten a lifesaver candy (though I had some M&Ms last summer). lol
Also love the colour scheme!

KitKats. Smarties!(the Canadian kind, not the USA kind, though those are nice too.) Never could abide sweet cereals for breakfast, though. lol

Those wouldn’t last from the convenience store to my house!
That looks like the backseat of my car!
Haha, Wouter, I’m so glad I’m not the only one!
Soooo sooooo red. You couldn’t possibly find a more pure red than that red. My goodness. I can’t stop staring at it. It’s like looking at the sun. -v
Be careful you don’t stare at that red too long, Vince. I’d hate for you to sunburn your retinas, lol!
A party in a sofa!
And it’s catered!
Hmm… that gives me an idea… the couch might be a good place to store valuables!
It’s the last place most people would think to look for something! If you lower your standards, there’s probably plenty of value under your cushions already (a rock hard gummy bear or licorice, for instance)!
I found a gummy bear under my daughter’s car seat. Delicious! I found 3 more like that!
Sometime in the far future, petrified gummy bears will be considered rare and magical talismans. You’d break your teeth trying to eat them, though…
Snacks are better than money anytime. Especially if you’re a birdy
Gummy bears go down easier than loose change.
Mmmm… I better go check out sofa
Plenty of goodies are waitin’ for you, Dixie!
