Saved by the Tail
This strip came to me at the last minute. I needed a place in the story to slow down the momentum of the last few falling strips, and a jump off point to carry the adventure further towards the center of the Earth. I planned out the sequence of frames and ended it with a cliff (tail)-hanger. It was a challenge imagining the clump of rock breaking apart, but I finished it up in good time. Still, I felt it needed something more. The mental image I had of Gorr slowly swinging by his tail wouldn’t go away, so I decided to animate a bit of movement in that final panel. It came out closer to what I had imagined than I could have imagined.
Close call! Very Nice Mark!
Gorr must have a tail made of steel cable! Thanks, David!
That’s amazing, Mark , I love it. 🙂
Thanks, J.P.! I had fun with this one.
That’s a real tail hanger!
I was sweating bullets when I drew it!
I believe it could have also been by the skin of his teeth!
Those herbivorous chompers came in handy!
*Whew!* Very close call! And another amazing animation! I’m afraid animated strips are a bit out of my league for my own comic! 🙂
Thanks, Dana! Animating even a panel is a bit labor-intensive. I’d like to do more but I’m working within a timeframe just to get the strips done on schedule.
