Kickstarter Pledger, Steve Nash, Guest Appearance Strip
The highest reward level for my Kickstarter was the “Little Brother Voodoo Level,” which was a guest appearance by the pledger in an animated Sunday-style Zombie Boy comic strip. This is the most complex animated comic strip I’ve ever done to date. It’s got three animated panels, and I really like how the color turned out.
I went through a lot of concepts and sketches and finally settled on this one. I thought a dungeon room would be a great place to use as a backdrop for animation. Plus, drawing all those torture devices was a hoot!
I’m super grateful to my friend, Steve Nash for his support and patience for waiting for this special strip to be finished. Thanks, Steve!
Wow, this is AWESOME Mark!
Congratulations to Steve Nash for winning a trip to StokesLand Fun Park. I particularly like the Toaster Wheel Barbecue.
That is a great job there Mark! (And spooky content!)
That’s beautiful, Mark! I don’t even want to think about how much work that was.
Looks Awesome Mark!
Thank you, Mat!
Looks fantastic! Awesome results!
*KA BOOM* My mind just blew up.
This one’s a ton of fun!
This is amazing Mark! Congratulations it’s beautiful!
Funny, I saw the image, and I thought “Wow, Cool!” but didn’t even have a double take at the fact that it’s animated! When I read your comments below it, I had to go back up to really appreciate the animation.
I think I took the movement for granted. I knew I loved it, but didn’t realize it was different that way.
Awesomeness!
Thanks so much, Jeniffer!
Ha ha, so great! You’ll have to tell me what you used for the animation. Great job! 🙂
I’m planning to create a tutorial on how I did it when I can. So glad you like it, Leroy!
That’s amazing Mark. I want to try to do something like this on my own strip sometime.
Thanks, Denny! It’s really not that complicated, it just requires some planning at the beginning and clear drawings. I’ll post a tutorial about it at some point.
I remember you doing some animation in a strip some time ago. Your animation cycles are always hypnotic! I hope you haven’t included any subliminal messages. Now excuse me, I have a sudden compulsion to rob a bank and send the proceeds to an address in Texas.
I promise, there are no subliminal messages, Denny. I promise, there are no subliminal messages, Denny. I promise, there are no subliminal messages, Denny. I promise, there are no subliminal messages, Denny.
I love it Mark! So much fun! You have to teach me that animation stuff someday!
wow-just-WOW! [tips hat]
