Happy we could illicit a laugh/drink spew, Jande! A true testimonial to our craft, haha!
“Sorry I’m late. I was actually on your street when I caught a whiff of a cookout a couple of blocks away but before I could find it, a fire truck drove by and I had to pull over and howl for a minute…”
I can only imagine the havoc when driving dogs add texting to their multi-tasking behind the wheel. What a disaster that would be!
Nothing is quite as chilling as something THAT strong making THAT face. Ohhhhhh, cute, innocent brutality!!!
Man, I gotta gush a tad …bit more than the average person sees reasonable. ..ehhh, yeahhhh.
Here goes:
That is some fine cartooning. It’s literally done too well for me to laugh at yet (granted I’m relatively new to the WebComic scene, but dang, this blows me away! Mighty fine!). There’s an old school “cartoony” look (and feel) to it that reminds me of being a kid on Saturday morning (before cartoon network existed). Those old cartoons were, are, & always will be great. They are not classics just because they’re old, they were classics when they were brand new; they remain great because they’re timeless. As with the Sunday Comics — for instance: I personally never understood why Peanuts was so great, I rarely found it funny, & I thought it was called Charlie Brown most my life. But there has never been a doubt in my mind that it is GREAT. It is a timeless classic. B.C., week after week, greatness whether hot of the press or from a 10 yr old, rotting newspaper.
I have certainly seen & appreciated your stuff before, but I am slow to come around & settle in. When I do though, I am in all the way. Needless to say, I will be peeking in on the happenings of Zombie Boy Comics on a regular basis from now on.
After all, it is a timeless classic! 🙂
Timeless is something I always strive for, I try to keep my focus on the relationships between my characters rather than what is going on out in the “real” world. I find the inner world of my characters much more interesting, and it helps me keep my work grounded. And it’s a flow, too. Something might inspire me that day, and I’ll make a strip about it and post it that night. It’s working with this kind of energy that makes strip-making such a thrill for me.
Doug, thanks for all your nice comments – gush away my friend! You are passionate about the art form, and I really appreciate you giving me your honest opinion of how you feel about my work. I’m happy you like what I’m doing here, and I hope you’ll keep reading!
Gorr’s got a good grasp on it!
He’s got things well in paw, Tim!
Having a dog like Gorr warms a zombie’s heart!
It would, but ZB’s heart is in a wooden box somewhere in Haiti…
Who’s begging now, huh!
Who’s your doggy?
Ouch. I can feel that from here!
My hands were sweating when I drew it, Tom!
Wait till you see his sit… On you!
He’ll sit when and where he wants to, too!
He’s really pouting over the paw!
As a recipient of some mighty firm handshakes, I can assure you there is real pain involved!
Gorr has so much talent, and strong ones!
You should see what he can do with a deck of cards!
Gorr would assuredly annihilate Stallone in Over the Top! Not even the hat-turning-trick can save him! XD
Stallone is just another fire hydrant to Gorr!
If Gorr’s breath doesn’t get you, he just beats you with his paw.
Just don’t ask him to arm wrestle!
Ya know, if dogs were the ones with opposable thumbs, it’d be a vewy different world we live in-eh? [grin]
But dog drivers could be hazardous on the road because it’s hard to drive with your head hanging out of the window all the time!
I almost spewed my drink over the monitor! You guys should team up. What a comedy routine you could have. lol
You started me on a train of thinking about dogs driving and getting distracted by every whiff that blew by. :`)

Gorr doesn’t do anything lightly.
Lightly is not in Gorr’s very limited vocabulary
Ha – good stuff. (and they must be in a “No signs with writing” zone.)
More like the “I don’t feel like lettering any more” zone!
Uncle!
It’s just fortunate Boog is right-handed!
I thought maybe it was a no loitering zone and someone misread. Always love your detail.
More like a “Lazy Zone” and someone didn’t want to take the extra time to letter, lol. Thanks, gruhn!
you do amazing things with just one long lazy panel, Mark! ;`)
Love the expresssions. <3
I’m partial to that sweet expression on Gorr’s face while he delivers the coup de grâce, lol!

There’s no way there couldn’t be a “cartoony” feel to my stuff. I grew up devouring comic strips like Broom-Hilda, Beetle Bailey, and Popeye, along with Harvey comics like Hot Stuff, Richie Rich, Baby Huey, Little Dot and Stumbo the Giant, and Bronze Age Marvel comic books with that heavy brush style that was the vogue at the time. A real hero of mine is the great Harvey Comics artist Warren Kremer, and Jack Cole, the creator of Plastic Man, the greatest superhero ever! Both of them had a clean, rubbery quality to their work that I really gravitated to. I also love the Belgian cartoonist, Hergé, the man behind Tintin.
Timeless is something I always strive for, I try to keep my focus on the relationships between my characters rather than what is going on out in the “real” world. Get a Gorr!
It’s worth saying again. Get a Gorr!!
Gorr’s got the Kung Fu grip!
And that’s just his left paw!
Gorr it’s just trying to be friendly! Good boy!
He’s always willing to lend a paw!
Gorr’s got a ‘firm’ understanding.
Ol iron paw!
The paw of death
You should see him play dead!
