I wanted it to be scary and funny at the same time. Nothing says funny like the color orange! Thanks for your nice comments, Sareen, I really appreciate that you liked it.
Wow, Tim thanks for those nice words! This was laid out several ways, but I finally settled on him grabbing the dino by the tail fin because I thought a reaction from the beast would be funnier than “X”s for eyes.
This is why I love this comics. Without the chat bubbles, I have to actually pay attention to every detail. I wouldn’t have expected that to happen (I try not to spoil it and just focus on each panel).
Plus you don’t have to translate it into another language. We all understand facial expressions and slapstick action, so a silent strip is truly universal.
Thanks George! Silent strips are less work in one way (no word or text balloons) but harder in another (the drawings have to carry the story). I like to do them because it forces me have to think on a primal level. I’m glad you enjoyed this one!
I’m glad you like it, Jerry. I realize this is par for the course at Bunny Wiggins, where you create three tiers each week. Never stopped to think that that is actually three regular size strips a week, about the same work as I do updating M-W-F. My hat’s off to ya!
Thanks Peter. It’s just twice the normal amount of work, but very satisfying to be able to tell more of a story. I like your multi-tiered strips, as well!
Gorr never does anything half-way, does he?
Also, he somehow manages to look impossibly more adorable in this strip. Maybe it’s just the way the awesome color scheme jumps out.
I discovered your strip last week and I’m really loving it! I went back into your archives and read about thirty strips yesterday. I’ve been studying how you use color. I really struggle with that myself. Great stuff!
Hello Denny, thanks for the wonderful words. Your work is very polished. Are you thinking of adding color? It’s more labor, but I think it adds another dimension to the world we’re creating.
I’ve always thinking about adding color to my strip, but now I’m thinking about YOU adding color to my strip. When you mentioned the extra labor involved it got the gears in my brain working and coming to the conclusion that it would be to my benefit if you did all my work. Actually, in all seriousness, I posted a color strip today but time wise its real tough for me to do a ton of that.
Awesome layout in this comic. Looks like Gorr’s catch a little bit larger.
Gorr never does anything on a small scale, Chris, lol! Thanks for the kind words!
Hahaha good boy! Man this comic is one of my favorites visually. The sea monster looks, for lack of a better word, AWESOME!
I wanted it to be scary and funny at the same time. Nothing says funny like the color orange! Thanks for your nice comments, Sareen, I really appreciate that you liked it.
Size doesn’t mater, right?
Gorr puts the fur in ferocious!
Thanks for the great Monday morning smile. 😀
You’re welcome, Saeed. I’m glad Gorr can get your week started like that!
Hey there’s something fishy going on here!!! Amazing layout, Mark, blew me away!
Wow, Tim thanks for those nice words! This was laid out several ways, but I finally settled on him grabbing the dino by the tail fin because I thought a reaction from the beast would be funnier than “X”s for eyes.
Sometimes I bite off more then I can chew, too.
Well said, Brian! But give Gorr enough time and I bet he could eat that whole thing!
Over the top funny!!
Thanks J.P.! These Sunday style strips are more work, but very fun to do.

Man, Mark, you totally know how to tell a story (without words even). I love how you designed this strip too. Quite innovative! And funny. 🙂

Something about biting the tail that feeds you.
I’m sure they’ll laugh at this in a few years. They have to survive it first.
Whooooaaaaa Nessie!
Haw, I couldn’t help but have that Loch lass in the back of my mind when I was drawing this, Aidan.
What a cool treat! Love the Sunday strip format today!

Another great catch by Gorr! Can’t wait to see what he’ll catch next!
He’s about to roll into a whole mess of trouble, Marieke!
Awesome strip! Love the panel layout!
Appreciate that, Daniel. Lovin’ me some High Council.
Teach a man to fish, he’ll eat for a day, teach a gorrasaurus to fish and you’ll crap your pants for a lifetime! o.O [grin]
You mean crap your bearskin, right?
great design –tricky layouts can be, well, tricky and you pulled it off. Often times they get too dang confusing but this works well. good on you.
I just think of it as one big picture, then I break it down into pieces. Thanks for the great design compliment!
I like these double-sized ones you do. Very nice (and effective) layout to tell the gag.
Thanks Peter. It’s just twice the normal amount of work, but very satisfying to be able to tell more of a story. I like your multi-tiered strips, as well!
I’ve never seen Gorr more hungry before.
Oh, that’s just a snack…
Gorr never does anything half-way, does he?
Also, he somehow manages to look impossibly more adorable in this strip. Maybe it’s just the way the awesome color scheme jumps out.
Ahh, thanks Hannah! Good to hear from you! How is Sparkles doing?
Gorr meets Loch Ness!!! Really like the way you did this one Mark
Thanks, Tony! I’m really digging “Dave’s Dilemma” over at The Tasmanians!
I love how happy Gorr looks in the second and third panels. So cute.
As others have said before me, fantastic layout and very funny.
It’s strange. The more primitive I draw Gorr, the cuter he gets? Thanks for the nice words, Becky!
Dogs should stick to chasing their own tails.
I think in this case I’m gonna have to agree with you, Jack! Lol.
Thats quite a catch! 🙂
Try hanging THAT on your wall!
And the time it will take to stuff it first. 🙂
Although I think it would be worth it to see it sing “Take Me to the River” when you push a button!
I discovered your strip last week and I’m really loving it! I went back into your archives and read about thirty strips yesterday. I’ve been studying how you use color. I really struggle with that myself. Great stuff!

Say, Denny, that’s some fine color work! Just sensational! Maybe you could do like one strip a week in color?
Anything you can catch, Gorr can catch bigger 🙂
Gorr can catch anything fifty times bigger than you!
Gorr is fearless
Bite first, ask questions later.
Gorr seems to always be at the wrong place at the wrong time XD
This time he really stuck his nose into some trouble!
Great build up and layout.
Thanks, Frank! Glad you like it.
