    Ha! They were birds.

I was originally going to use blackbirds, but I wanted to add some color, so I saved it for the fall.

I’m sure you’ve had enough drawing blackbirds for one year, too. LOL.

Yeah. You are so right! The only saving grace about blackbirds is that they are really mostly sillhouettes, but still I’ve drawn enough for quite awhile!

I think I’m reading this as a reflection on art – quite a bit of fun! The possibilities of interpretation seem endless

That’s interesting. I’d honestly like to hear one of your interpretations. I find it a bit sad myself…

ok, the first one i can come up with might be a bit sad, too: art is some kind of shock stripping life of all the pretty lies – since this might make art seem a bit fundamentalist. it should be possible, though, to make this a happy thing: art transforming realities fancy (but dead) clothes into something live and free again.

Wow. That’s about the deepest comment I’ve ever had on this site. Thanks so much! And here I thought it was just a cute cartoon. Really gives me something to think about!

Ahhh so this is the one you mentioned a while ago. I really like that it’s birds not leaves. Very clever twist Mark.

My dog sneezes a lot, and violently too. Poor little guy can barely breath as it is, so I guess when he sneezes it HAS to be big. Pugs have it pretty bad during allergy season.

Speaking of interpretation …I could see this as a symbolic way in segwaying the “changing of the seasons”. [grin]

You know Jynksie, that’s an awesome interpretation. I honestly didn’t see that when I drew it, but now that you mention it, I really do.

I never knew so many birds could be in one tree, but it IS possible! I’ve seen trees filled with blackbirds that look just like my drawing.

Birds are naturally jumpy and nervous. Anything can set them off, especially when they are in a group. I’m glad I’m not a bird.

I know someone who has the loudest, most violent sneeze. It’s like a force of nature. It’s so loud, it startles people. I’m glad you like the strip, Josh.

Judging from Gorr’s tail, did he fart as well?!

    • Zombie Boy

My pug’s tail loses some of its curl when he sneezes. You know us cartoonists like to take it to the next level. But either end it came out of the effect is the same, lol!
