Awesome layout in this comic. Looks like Gorr’s catch a little bit larger.

Gorr never does anything on a small scale, Chris, lol! Thanks for the kind words!

Hahaha good boy! Man this comic is one of my favorites visually. The sea monster looks, for lack of a better word, AWESOME!

I wanted it to be scary and funny at the same time. Nothing says funny like the color orange! Thanks for your nice comments, Sareen, I really appreciate that you liked it.

Hey there’s something fishy going on here!!! Amazing layout, Mark, blew me away!

Wow, Tim thanks for those nice words! This was laid out several ways, but I finally settled on him grabbing the dino by the tail fin because I thought a reaction from the beast would be funnier than “X”s for eyes.

Thanks J.P.! These Sunday style strips are more work, but very fun to do.

This is why I love this comics. Without the chat bubbles, I have to actually pay attention to every detail. I wouldn’t have expected that to happen (I try not to spoil it and just focus on each panel).

Plus you don’t have to translate it into another language. We all understand facial expressions and slapstick action, so a silent strip is truly universal.

Man, Mark, you totally know how to tell a story (without words even). I love how you designed this strip too. Quite innovative! And funny. 🙂

      March 19, 2012, 12:02 | # | Reply

Thanks George! Silent strips are less work in one way (no word or text balloons) but harder in another (the drawings have to carry the story). I like to do them because it forces me have to think on a primal level. I’m glad you enjoyed this one!

I’m glad you like it, Jerry. I realize this is par for the course at Bunny Wiggins, where you create three tiers each week. Never stopped to think that that is actually three regular size strips a week, about the same work as I do updating M-W-F. My hat’s off to ya!

Thanks Peter. It’s just twice the normal amount of work, but very satisfying to be able to tell more of a story. I like your multi-tiered strips, as well!

Gorr never does anything half-way, does he?
Also, he somehow manages to look impossibly more adorable in this strip. Maybe it’s just the way the awesome color scheme jumps out.

I discovered your strip last week and I’m really loving it! I went back into your archives and read about thirty strips yesterday. I’ve been studying how you use color. I really struggle with that myself. Great stuff!

Hello Denny, thanks for the wonderful words. Your work is very polished. Are you thinking of adding color? It’s more labor, but I think it adds another dimension to the world we’re creating.

      • Denny Fincke
        March 21, 2012, 09:36 | # | Reply

I’ve always thinking about adding color to my strip, but now I’m thinking about YOU adding color to my strip. When you mentioned the extra labor involved it got the gears in my brain working and coming to the conclusion that it would be to my benefit if you did all my work. Actually, in all seriousness, I posted a color strip today but time wise its real tough for me to do a ton of that.
