Reminds me of when I moved to a new town in 2nd grade mid year. My parents took me to someones house and they had a 2nd grade boy. I was so glad I was going to know someone on my first day. We started playing at recess and then all the kids came over and started calling him “booger boy!” He would pick one and chase them around. Shortest friendship ever and worst first day of school ever.
