If you want to hear my gums bounce as I ramble on about Zombie Boy, my past art experiences, and where I plan to go in the future, be sure to listen to this podcast! Hosted by the charming Amber Dalcourt, this is one of my most indepth interviews yet! Amber asks the kind of questions I would ask if I was talking to a creator. You can hear the interview here.

Evil Ink services include Branding and Identity, E-Book and information product creation, and Copywriting. For more information visit: Evil Ink.

The Original Leaf Bandit at Work

The Original Leaf Bandit at Work

As you may or may not know, Gorr is based on my own sweet pug, Pooj. I recently got some shots of him doing his leaf thing and I wanted to share them with you. Pooj loves to sniff, he will follow a scent no matter how far under the leaves he has to go. He roots around and sounds exactly like a pig with all his huffing and snorting. This is the exact behavior that inspired the Leaf Bandit, to give you an idea of how sometimes life imitates art imitates life.

Gorr by Daniel Barton

Goober and Cindy is like the best treat in the gumball machine. Earth girl, Cindy, along with her adopted alien brother, Goober, deliver plenty of out-of-this-world laughs in this delightful strip by Daniel Barton. Daniel is not only the creator and executioner of this sweet comic, he also hosts and produces  The Webcomic Show, one of the most entertaining podcasts out there. With traditional media, Daniel created this great piece of devil dog, Gorr, which I’m truly happy to show to you. Thanks, Daniel!

Zombie Boy and Duck by David Hurley

David Hurley is the creator of Don’t Pick the Flowers, a whimsical strip about the little town of Flowerville, and its dizzy denizens including Vincent, Suzanne and the every affable, Duck! David captures this burg in his brilliant, clear line and sparkling color. Even Zombie Boy finds it hard to be his usual cranky self in this drawing by David, which includes the delightful Duck. Thanks, David for this gem of a guest drawing!

Also check out David’s blog, where he interviews fellow creators (including yours truly). Read his blog here.

Gorr Strip by Francesca Testen

One of the most enthusiastic people of my “Curse” strips has been 12-year old wunderkind Francesca Testen, the amazing and talented creator behind the online comic, The History Twins. Francesca, along with her equally talented and supportive father, Robert, collaborated to produce their own “Curse” strip which I am delighted to share with you. FT began The History Twins to express her creativity in words and pictures, but also to raise awareness and money for The National Niemann-Pick Disease Foundation. Go by and visit Francesca’s site, The History Twins, and be prepared to witness a blossoming toon genius.
