OMG. His suit. Hahahahah.
Hatch, that suit is a homage to Magnus, Robot Fighter, a character created by Russ Heath in 1963. He’s a human who battles rogue robots in the year 4000. Always loved Heath’s clean line work, so this one was a lot of fun for me.
It always starts with the vending machines…
They are merciless and ultimately frustrating automatons, aren’t they?
ALL machines are these days! ;`)
I here vending machines are the gateway robot when it comes to being a superhero.
Nothing rouses hate in the human spirit more than a quarter lost in a vending machine!
I’ve done that a few times myself!
Feels kind of good too, right?
Haha, this is awesome Mark! Love the second panel!
This is my tribute to Magnus, Robot Fighter. Glad you like it, David!
Very much Mark!
I’m happy I did this one now! (Put it off for a while…)
Like so many Call of Duty players, I think he’d find those are not transferable skills.
Only effective within the parameters of a break room.
It’s always good to have a dream!
Never unplug your dream!
Those vending machines deserve it, lol!
Sometimes they just ask for it!
Reminds me of Mangus the Robot Fighter, the costume even is similiar. Mangus was red and looked liked armored fish scales.
Good catch, Gui. It’s a little homage. I’ve always been fascinated by Russ Heath’s Magnus, Robot Fighter work.
Nice, even has the initial on the belt. Magnus didn’t have the bunched up muscle look of Marvel but a more lean look that gave the impression of tensile strength.
Which made him the perfect fighting machine against rebel robots!
Delusions are all the rage this year.
Delusion is always in fashion, J.P.!
It all starts with vending machines!
One day they will attempt to rule the Earth!
Sounds like he’s highly qualified & experienced for the job.
Venting machine venting is not for the weak of heart, Tony! It requires a very intense skill set!
And a lot of uncontrolled rage
errr… I meant to say;
AND A LOT OF UNCONTROLLED RAGE!!!!!
I’ve always wondered why vending companies don’t simply add kick plates to their vending machines. It would save a lot of time and aggravation and allow us to have a really clear cut target.
There’s also the “rock-it-back-and-forth manuever”, and the “beat-the-sides” technique, so they’d have to steel-plate every square inch of the things!
I like the Superhero outfit as well. No more Spandex!
Nothing says hero like a white chain mail tunic and go-go boots!
I don’t think Duncan is alone in giving the vending machine a thrashing.
There’s a lot more of us than there are of them!
Did any fall on him?
That’s metal shavings in his hair, not glitter.
Evil robots might fight back a little, though.
Duncan, Robot Mangler loves it when they fight back!
Not even Rock ‘em sock ‘em robots?
You knocked my block off!
Love the center panel!
I’m glad, Tom, I spent way too much time on it!
He looks like he’s more set for a night of black lights and go-go dancing (under one of those huge light-fracturing globes covered in squares of mirrors) than fighting robots. Though I have to admit that was often what those dancers looked like they were doing –fighting invisible robots! :`D
I love the outfit and the sentiment! Someone should teach those vending machines about Asimov’s Laws of Robotics!
Seems like his uniform is based on a gladiator tunic, that’s what I think when I see it. The boots really add that go-go effect, for sure.
Vending machines may not be robotic killers, but they are thieves!
Go Duncan Go Duncan!
Duncan, Robot Mangler needs his own battle cry.
That sounds just like me!!
Done a little vending bashing too, eh?
He is ripped! It looks like he has a 24 pack!
It’s just one flabby uni-pack, George!
